The Blue Force 3 was launched in November 2018, and is one of the best liveaboard diving boats in the Maldives. She is elegant, comfortable, and functional. Onboard you will find everything you need to enjoy a great diving experience in the waters of the Maldives. She offers safari adventures to a maximum of twenty-six guests in twelve well-appointed cabins. The Central Atolls and the South Hemisphere routes explore the most important diving places in the Maldives.
All twelve cabins have air conditioning individual controls as well as an ensuite private bath. The lower deck features four double cabins with one double bed and one single bed, and two triple cabins with three single beds. The main deck features two double cabins with two single beds and a large window. The upper deck features four double cabins with a sea view window and one double bed as well as one single bed.
The main deck common areas include the dining room, salon, and bar, and the dive deck area that features ample area for individual gear storage and camera preparation tables. Outside, there is a common area with two wide solariums in bow and stern as well as a bar. The upper deck and sun deck offer covered and open sun decks with comfortable chaise lounge chairs. Meals are served buffet-style in the dining room and snacks are provided throughout the day.
The archipelago of the Maldives is formed by 25 atolls and almost 1,200 islands. The vast majority of the islands are uninhabited. The Maldives is considered one of the top diving destinations in the world, and the Maldives diving is one of the most exciting experiences in life. BF3 itineraries include the 7 Atolls route in the Southern Hemisphere (deep south), the classic Central Atolls route, the Best of the Maldives, and Maldives manta expeditions.
All liveaboard packages include airport assistance, a dive guide from the Blue Force team, travel insurance, all meals (coffee, tea, and water), scuba diving, and a cancellation policy. International flights, tourist visa, port taxes, internet, soft drinks and alcohol onboard, and drinks and lunch at the hotel are not included.
Rental equipment is available with an advanced reservation. Divers have access to S100 tanks, double S80 tanks with manifolds, stage S40, sofnolime for rebreathers, and trimix. The Blue Force team offers nitrox and limited support is available for rebreathers and trimix. Technical diving and rebreathers require advance reservations. Advanced open water certification may be required for some Red Sea dive sites and itineraries.

Dive Conditions

The conditions are generally good all the year around Maldives. Air temperature is 26°C to 32°C year-round. The average water temperature ranges from 27°C to 30°C year-round. Divers can expect visibility from 15m to 40m depending on the season and location. The visibility is not as good during the rainy season, May to August. Currents depend a lot on tide and location, and ranges from none in the lagoon to very strong in the channels. Dive depths range from 5m to 40m. The coral reefs are shallow and most of the dive sites are between 10 and 20 meters deep.
Due to the medium to strong currents, drift dives are common. Often divers have to do a negative entry, which means the moment you enter the water, you must descend to the bottom. The Maldives is recommended for the intermediate level or experienced diver. Because of the depths and currents, dives in the Maldives are usually 45 - 50 minutes for many divers. There are many dives sites which are suitable for novice divers as well which are protected from the currents, and novice divers can do drift dives on the long reefs not affected by tricky currents.
