Introducing Solitude Gaia, a scuba diving liveaboard from Solitude Liveaboard redefining the essence of ocean exploration. Launched in 2023, this 40-meter vessel seamlessly combines innovation and craftsmanship, boasting a robust steel hull for stability and an aluminium superstructure for added security and comfort.
Imagine a world where the waters are always a clear shade of turquoise, nature is ready to greet you at every turn, and diving is a celebration of life. In Palau, Micronesia, that’s precisely what life is like. It’s a diver’s paradise, not to mention one of the most exotic vacation destinations in the world. For many of us, the opportunity to dive deep into untouched waters filled with exotic wildlife is golden. That’s why we created one of the best liveaboard experiences in Micronesia. The Solitude Gaia is here to bring you closer to the Palau islands.
The Solitude Gaia is the newest branch of Solitude Resorts and one of the few that features an entirely liveaboard experience. Your journey will begin in a luxury yacht featuring nine different cabins, accommodating a total of 18 guests. Your fellow guests will be your neighbors and new friends. Each cabin features elegant, spacious surroundings with crisp linens, a desktop with universal electrical outlets, and a private bathroom. Most cabins also offer gorgeous ocean views, allowing visitors to watch the sunrise before leaving their rooms. If you prefer a cabin without windows, that is also possible. Two of our cabins are found on the interior of the ship, making it easy for guests to get a break from waterside views while maintaining a level of intimate luxury. As a luxury dive ship, the Solitude Gaia ensures all guests are taken care of with free toiletries, plush bathrobes, and an ensuite television.
While your rooms might be your home away from home, the amenities found onboard the yacht act as your playground. During every journey, guests can explore the following amenities: The Lounge.: The Lounge room is where you will be able to enjoy meals, chat with friends, or even just kick back in comfort. Like the rest of the ship, the Lounge is designed in a sleek, modern, yet earthy style. The Digital Room: Right across from the Lounge is our state-of-the-art Digital Room. Watch TV, charge your electronics, and indulge in tech without leaving the boat. The Spa: As a luxury liveaboard, we have a fully dedicated spa complete with upscale treatments designed to relax and awaken the senses. Sundecks. Soak up the sunlight and moonlight on one of the many sundecks on the upper levels. The Dining Area: The Dining Area features a separate lounge complete with a minibar. Every meal will be a delightful blend of international cuisine prepared by noted chefs. Though most people come for the chance to follow a dive master into the waters, we ensure that all time spent onboard will be filled with fun, relaxation, and great views. This is why the Solitude Gaia boasts a wide number of water toys—including a slide!
Palau’s waters remain some of the most beautiful and pristine in the world. The Solitude Gaia’s liveaboard experience is focused on providing some of the world’s most impeccable diving. Our diving staff will guide you through some of the most beautiful spots around the Palau region. Our journeys are times to help divers get a close look at local wildlife at their finest—and yes, that includes Palau’s famous spawning season. Divers can take photos of manta rays, parrotfish, visually stunning coral reefs, and local landmarks such as historic wrecks. Our expert team carefully plans dive sites to ensure safety and remarkable experiences. Every journey has its own curated itinerary, with multiple dive opportunities available during most days. Because nature is just as unpredictable as humanity, Solitude Gaia’s staff keep a certain level of flexibility in their schedule and route. After all, we are simply guests in this beautiful, watery paradise. If you do not own your diving equipment, no problem. You can rent fully prepared, checked, high-quality equipment from the Solitude Gaia as part of every diving trip. Access to diving amenities is a cornerstone of our work. When diving isn’t available, divers can still swim in the waters. It’s worth noting that the Solitude Gaia experience requires all divers to be accompanied by one of the ship’s diving guides and that divers have DAN Medical coverage.
The Solitude Gaia offers nitrox for EAN-certified divers and can support side-mount gear. Rebreathers are also supported on full boat charters only. Note that because of the remote location, rebreather chemicals and gases are expensive.

Dive Conditions

Palau has a tropical climate year-round with rain throughout the year, although the rains are heavier in the months of July to October which reduces the visibility to an average of 15m and can cause weather conditions that may interfere with diving.
It can be difficult to get reef sharks to come close to you while you are hooked in at Blue Corner. Unhooking and swimming down into or over the lip of the reef can get you closer to sharks, but you also risk the ire of other dive groups who think your bubbles will scare away the critters. It's best not to chase sharks. Instead, find a good spot where they can swim by you in the current. Night dives are often the best time to put on a macro lens, as a wide range of reclusive creatures emerge from the reef after dark.
Water Temperature ranges between 81-84 degrees Fahrenheit. Visibility usually Ranges from 50 - 150+ feet. During the dry season, the visibility is often in excess of 100 feet.
