Kuredu Island Resort WEATHER
Kuredu offers several types of villas: private pool villas, Sangu water villas, Jacuzzi beach villas, deluxe beach villas, ‘O’ beach villas, premium beach villas, beach villas, beach bungalows, and garden bungalows. The private pool villas are set in the island’s tropical greenery and are surrounded by peripheral walls. Although these villas are private, they are still conveniently located near the resort’s main facilities. The villa includes a 40 square meter private pool, patio, private thatched sunshade, sunbeds, a four-poster bed, and a Jacuzzi bathtub. The villa is 287-313 square meters, and there is an option for single or double villas. The single villa accommodates two people while the double unit includes two villas for four guests in total. The Sangu water villas are built on stilts and sit in the ocean. Each villa has a secluded veranda, and the honeymoon suite has a Jacuzzi. These villas also have access to adults only facilities. The Jacuzzi beach villas have three locations throughout the resort and feature a large bathroom, cozy sitting area, Jacuzzi, and furnished terrace. The deluxe beach villas are perfect for families as there is a king-sized double bed and three single beds. These villas have a central location and direct access to the beach. The chic contemporary ‘O’ beach villas are located on the northeastern side of the resort for a more romantic, private feel. The premium beach villas are beachfront and centrally located. The beach villas are located on the northeast side and are great for guests who would prefer to dine at the Koamas restaurant. All villas include air conditioning, beach towels, sunbeds, four-poster beds, Nespresso machine, wine fridge, flat-screen TV, hairdryer, and safety deposit box.
There are two main restaurants at the resort: Koamas Restaurant and Sango Restaurant. Both restaurants are open-air buffet-style for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a separate room for each table. Koamas is for guests in the bungalows, deluxe beach villas, beach villas, premium beach villas, and jacuzzi beach villas. Sangu is for guests age 18 and up who stay in the ‘O’ beach villas. Guests who stay in the Sangu villas and private pool villas can choose from either restaurant to dine in. There is a la carte dining at the Frano’s, Mediterranean restaurant as well as Asian cuisine at The Far East. Guests can find locally sourced seafood and vegetarian dishes at the Beach Shack. Ten bars throughout the island offer unique drinks and menus.
Guests can experience diving through the PADI-certified dive center, Prodivers. Diving groups have a maximum of four people per instructor and start in the lagoon for new divers. After the first dive, divers can venture out to the house reef or from the many other dive sites nearby. Clownfish and manta rays are just a small part of the vibrant marine life at the Maldives. The resort’s house reef is home to a shipwreck teeming with marine life such as lionfish, jacks, batfish, and more. The wreck is also great for night dives as napoleon's frequent the insides of the ship at night. Divers can explore beyond the house reef as there are over sixty dive sites nearby. This includes interactions with marine life such as manta rays, turtles, and sharks. One dive site, known as the Shipyard, has a shipwreck that breaks through the surface of the water and drops 30 meters to the bottom of the channel. The ships, Skipjack 1 and 2, have been in the waters since the 1980s and are home to small blennies, emperor angelfish, anthias, damsels, butterflyfish, glassfish, scorpionfish, and stingrays.
The All-Inclusive Gold package includes all meals at the buffets, access to all bars, an hour-long spa treatment, a snorkeling lesson, a windsurfing lesson, free use of the golf driving range, and one introductory or orientation dive.

Dive Conditions

The conditions are generally good all the year around Maldives. Air temperature is 26°C to 32°C year-round. The average water temperature ranges from 27°C to 30°C year-round. Divers can expect visibility from 15m to 40m depending on the season and location. The visibility is not as good during the rainy season, May to August. Currents depend a lot on tide and location, and ranges from none in the lagoon to very strong in the channels. Dive depths range from 5m to 40m. The coral reefs are shallow and most of the dive sites are between 10 and 20 meters deep.
Due to the medium to strong currents, drift dives are common. Often divers have to do a negative entry, which means the moment you enter the water, you must descend to the bottom. The Maldives is recommended for the intermediate level or experienced diver. Because of the depths and currents, dives in the Maldives are usually 45 - 50 minutes for many divers. There are many dives sites which are suitable for novice divers as well which are protected from the currents, and novice divers can do drift dives on the long reefs not affected by tricky currents.
