The Bunaken Oasis Resort is our latest offering in Indonesia and is luxury at its best.

Bunaken Oasis redefines diving in Bunaken.  Positioned very much at the luxury end of the spectrum, the aim is to provide a 5-star experience whilst keeping the ecological footprint to a minimum.

The resort offers 12 large, traditionally-built villas, including one family villa with two bedrooms, and one villa near the Long House for those who may have difficulty walking.

A major focal point of the resort is a free form infinity pool, with sun-loungers and easy access to the bar, for those who want to spend time above, rather than below, the water.

In addition to a chill-out cocktail bar and a full-service restaurant serving Indonesian and international cuisine, guest amenities also include an air conditioned library, a fully-equipped classroom in the Dive Centre with 4k flat-screen TV, especially useful for photographic groups, and a spacious camera room with more charging points than you will ever need.

The Bunaken Marine National Park is a protected, though fragile, environment, and we are committed to taking our eco-responsibilities very seriously.  Using our own bore holes, or even sea-water, with water makers and ultraviolet treatment, we have ensured that all the water in the resort is fully drinkable, and we can avoid the need for one of the greatest pollutants of our time - plastic bottles.  In addition, all waste water will be processed through a water-treatment plant. Diving is from one of our brand-new, purpose-built dive boats (1 x 17 metre fibreglass catamaran, 3 x 14 metre and 2 x 16 metre traditional wooden boats ). All of the boats provide freshwater deck showers, catering facilities, flushing WCs, and excellent facilities for photographers. However, the resort is most proud of is the space you’ll enjoy on board.

Oasis Explorers is a newly-launched technical training facility located at Bunaken Oasis Dive Resort and Spa in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The facility is the first in Bunaken Marine Park to offer multi-agency technical training, trimix and CCR compatibility, and a vastness of unexplored deep dive sites, all in the setting of an award-winning luxury dive resort. Expect a state-of-the-art filling station, specialised equipment, experienced surface support and expert advisors.

The recreational diving itinerary, West Colombo & Northwest Kalpitiya, departs from Colombo to explore beautiful wrecks and reefs. Half the week is spent exploring the wrecks and the other half venturing north for drift diving along lush coral reefs. The wreck dives may include: the Thermopylae Sierra, Chief Dragon, Taprobane, and Trug. With warm coastal waters and the continental shelf only 5 to 10 kilometers out from the Sri Lankan coast, Sri Lanka is guaranteed a wealth of coral and marine life all year long including dozens of ship wrecks that have become artificial reefs for local fish species and are easily accessible to recreational divers. Tech & Rebreather Trips: The Tech Wreck itinerary departs from Trincomalee and explores world-class wrecks such as the HMS Hermes aircraft carrier, HMS Hollyhock and RFA Athelstane. With over 200 wrecks in Sri Lanka, 50 are identified as excellent or world class dives. Including the HMS Hermes the first ever British aircraft carrier built. The 600 meter wreck is residing at a depth of 54 meters along with 3 other support ships in 20 to 40 meter depths, The Sri Lanka Aggressor is fitted with 3 x 600 HP Compressors, Nitrox Compressor, Full Tri-Mix System and Rebreather System. Land Trips: Sri Lanka offers world class wildlife parks full of large game animals;  leopards, sloth bears, elephant, water buffalo, jackel, wild boar, deer, marsh and mugger crocodiles and 492 species of resident or migratory birds. The Aggressor Tented Safari Lodge is located near Wilpattu and Minneriya National Parks. Guests may stay for 3 nights before or after the Sri Lanka Aggressor and will experience big game viewing in both parks, seeing leopard, elephant, bear, buffalo, deer, crocodile, jackel and many other animals and birds in their natural jungle habitat. Our last dive trip was to Cobalt Coast Resort and the service is first class, meals are ordered off the menu, not buffet, diving with DiveTech was excellent, and we loved the afternoon shore dives off the end of the pier. We are writing this blog entry from our patio at Cobalt Coast Resort in Grand Cayman. The owner, Arie Barendrecht, and his staff have made us feel like we have arrived back home from the moment we arrived. And the Divetech staff is always ready to help in any manner.
